I couldn't stop laughing after the first two lines. That shit was gangster. You get even more gangster points if you pucker your lips out like a fish and look pregnant while talking about unseemly exploits. But I see you mentioned the partner as being Belzer, but it's not. It's some pale latino guy. Perhaps a white guy wasn't allowed to go to that part of the ghetto. I also don't see Ice-T's angry black man persona as merely relevant to this show. In fact, maybe he simply is an angry black man. He did make a career off gangster rap with a very notable hit titled "Cop Killa"I like how ghetto bitch "whitens up" when in the presence of the police station though.
I don't think that is Munch (Richard Belzer), it's more like Detective Chester Lake played by the Native American actor Adam Beach. In any case, interesting point about the conversation. I see that so many times in shows and in real life. Like my roomate and his girlfriend always speak Chinese around me if it's something they don't want me to hear. I don't know what to make of it but I think people will generally feel either ignorant that they don't know what's going on or that those speaking in another language/slang/etc are being rude.Ice-T is given an important role of a detective but with all these stereotypes like how he's a rapper portraying a former undercover gang member. Kind of like what Reena Mistry was saying in thatarticle.
Sorry about that mix up with detectives and thanks for mentioning it. By the way, I wasn't talking about Ice- T being the angry black man, I was talking about the pimp in the photos.
